All The Technology In The World Can’t Protect Humans From Humans

Video is a great teacher. It’s a perfect way to Monday morning quarterback a lost game. It’s also a reminder of what’s wrong around you that needs fixing.

We live in a world of constant surveillance and recording. That said, what good does it do to have all the security monitoring tech if we don’t use it correctly? From a position, a person can monitor property, people, and even high-risk situations. However, are these systems being utilized to their potential? And, what can you learn by going back and watching “game” footage in the real world?

One such video that’s bothered me for years occurred on a cold November morning in 2019. I wouldn’t see the event, or see the video for another fourteen hours. When I did, I realized something very wrong had happened.

Trusting in a system that I’d dedicated a good portion of my life to, I had faith in the powers that be to do their jobs. Had they done their jobs, I would certainly have known about it because doing their jobs meant a modicum of inconvenience for me. That’s how I know they didn’t do their jobs and the circumstances were swept under the rug.
