Does Zelensky Starting With Non-Starters As Conditions For Peace Negotiations Reaffirm He’s Not The Leader The World Believes Him To Be
Starting with a non-starter for the Russians, Zelensky doesn’t seem to want peace as much as he wants more money from the rest of the world. Supporting the pushback against Russia is like a used car that’s nickeling and diming you. In this case, if this invasion pushed inflation, then it’s nickel and diming the world. Who breaks first is the feared question we’ve all lived with for nearly a year.
The seemingly charming and charismatic leader of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, says again that he’d be open to negotiations with Russia if certain conditions are met.
- Restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity
- Punishment of war criminals
- Compensation for Kyiv for the invasion
Number two and number three or going to be obvious sticking points with Russia and it doesn’t take a well-versed foreign policy reader to see that’s the case. Considering Joe Biden’s administration has already given tens of billions in non-military, military, and financial aid to Ukraine and President Zelensky’s already asked for more, what would the Russian government want to give him money for?
