Great story!

Manet’s “Luncheon on the Grass” — which inspired my story above, was rejected by the conservative Paris Salon and literally caused a scandal, not due to the nudity, but because the woman was in a setting with clothed men. Many believed it depicted the widespread (but unacknowledged) sex work in French parks.
