I don't think it could happen so the key word is "try." Anything is possible, I guess, in a world of infinite possibilities. However, this isn't the Dawn of settling the country and times have changed far too much for it to get past a thought. If it did happen, it would be a fringe group attempt and it would be put down pretty fast.
