I'd estimate that unsolved murders are double to triple that based on missing persons reports that go on for ever and the number of undocumented that could be unaccounted for due to tragedy. In one case I read, there was a burial ground with a bunch of bodies, all undocumented, and all murdered. And that one was done by a federal agent.
