It is a great quote and very timely yet again. This case is unlike anything I’ve seen, watched, or held training on since before I wore a badge. Arrogance may have a part in some of the law enforcement problems. The cool and tough guy name of a team, the untouchable standard of an elite unit, are both things feeding male bravado and arrogance. I had a boss once that pumped his chest about something he cowardly did to a guy I was on top of putting on cuffs. Such an arrogant prick that he thought he was untouchable. It happened on a Monday and 72 hrs later I watched them walk him out of the building. So arrogance does make people think they can get away with murder and the bullies who wanted the badge to use on people will get violent as soon as that arrogance builds up enough it simmers.
