I've been thinking about my results and my time on Medium today and saw this pop up. In June I was doing great. When August rolled around things slowed. Now, after three months of trying to reverse that momentum, I expect that the new algorithm the new boss is running will show me earning negative next month. If the math holds from month to month that will be the case, if the programmers found a way to achieve it. One thing that got me thinking was the why in the process. People (the readers) don't change that drastically. If anything, not that I'm a Woodward or Bernstein level writer, I've improved.

Nevertheless, it seems there are either far fewer members on Medium today than six months ago (which I doubt) or Medium's changes have had a negative effect that is likely to turn it into the next Vocal. Realistically, I doubt that there's anything that is going to change because this is what Tony seems to want for Medium, his vision. Just my thoughts on the future around here.

Oh, and when the going gets tough the tough get's going could be interpreted as the tough being smart enough to survive in another place. Just a thought from reading comments.
