NewsBreak, Medium, And Vocal All Have One Thing In Common

Newsbreak, Medium, And Vocal all have one thing in common with each other. They’re all writing platforms, of course, but they have one other thing in common, unfortunately.

NewsBreak

It’s what it says it is, a news application that allows people and organizations to share news, stories, and views from around the United States. How does it work? It has a couple of requirements and a more astringent editorial standard than Medium.com and Vocal.

The requirements, past signing up, are that each account holder has at least 100 registered followers and 10 stories on their profile page. It’s not a tough thing to achieve and can be done with ease in just a few weeks. Then you can apply for their monetization program.

Talking to other writers, it took between three and four weeks to get approved for NewsBreak’s monetization program. Five weeks ago I applied and they aren’t answering applications. In the meantime, they’ll encourage you to write for their platform, which is ad-based. The long and the short of that means that you’ll be providing content to NewsBreak free of compensation and they’ll use it to help with their advertising.
