The Death And Rebirth Of The DC Universe Begins And Ends With James Gunn’s New Vision At Warner Bros
There was a lot of news about DC Studio’s plans this week, and most of it spells doom for the immediate future of the current franchise.
Visionary director James Gunn is steering the helm at Warner Bros DC Studios and the news in the short term appears to be bad. From Forbes to the Vulture and all over the news media the word is that Wonder Woman 3 is dead in the water. What James Gunn can do for the DC Studios franchises aside, the cancellations of the current iterations will likely be disappointing to fans. If a restart is in order, it’s likely to include some key roles being played by recast actors after the failures of the first run at DC Studios having a cinematic universe outside of their long acclaimed animated movies.
Along with the cancellation of Wonder Woman hitting the news this week, there was news of other cancellations. While there were cancellations that included Batgirl and Cyborg, it’s now pretty obvious that Aquaman is going to end with the sequel. Aquaman 2 has been under the limelight of controversy for a while. Petitions have been signed by millions of people demanding Amber Heard be removed as Mera.
