The image you used portrays a man in his late sixties or older. I don't think using the buzzword "privilege" is the issue. That older generation is always trying to pass on wisdom and what they think young people need to be. That's not privilege so much as it is ignorance. Like you point out, he didn't know the girls. He probably doesn't remember being small, vulnerable to adults, and being that young.
