What Do You Do When A Story You Love Tanks?
We’ve all been there, right? Maybe it’s just me…nah, can’t be!
Have you ever had a story tank so bad that you wanted to pull it down and forget about it? If you haven’t, you’re lucky.
I started out wanting to write fiction. I wrote on Vocal first and that is the most dismal place in the world to write. The writers there are just writing, trying to make it to the winner's circle, and win big prizes. Nobody reads much. Before you say…that’s not true, let’s look at the obvious. If you post stories there, share them on the internet, and in Vocal groups, and weeks later they have zero reads, Vocal isn’t a well enough known platform and its readers don’t read your work. It’s the only reason that would happen on the internet, in a world with billions of users.
I gave the idea of writing another book some more thought. Yes, I’ve written more than one. Three to be exact. I thought this one up and thought if it went well and I was confident about it, I’d maybe put it out in a weekly format. Scratch that. The first installment crashed so fast that it was like watching a brick hit bottom in a wading pool.
Alright, I get it. I’m not popular. My 13 hundred or so followers compared to other people's thousands isn’t going to get me much. But, I’m smart enough to know that 30 views, 2 reads, and not enough…
