What Is My IP Address And How Can I Find It On My Computer

If you’ve ever wondered what you’re IP address is or how to find it, the instructions here should get you there without too much difficulty.

  1. Using a search engine: Open a web browser and go to a search engine like Google. In the search bar, type “What is my IP address” and press Enter. The search results should display your IP address.
  2. Checking network settings (Windows): On a Windows computer, you can check your IP address through the network settings. Right-click on the network icon in the system tray (usually located in the bottom-right corner of the screen) and select “Open Network & Internet settings” or “Open Network and Sharing Center.” In the network settings, you should see your IP address listed. Make sure you click on your connected network.
  3. Checking network settings (Mac): On a Mac computer, click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of the screen and select “System Preferences.” In the System Preferences window, click on “Network.” Your IP address should be displayed next to “Status” and “Connected.”
  4. Using the command prompt (Windows): Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type “cmd” and press Enter to open the command prompt. In the command prompt…
