Getting arrested is a traumatic experience for most people. Knowing what to do can mean the difference between a very long and nerve-racking experience and a relatively painless one. What do you do if you get arrested?
Most people are never going to get arrested, and that’s a good thing. Out of all the local, county, and state police I’ve ever met, none of them started their shift hoping to arrest anyone. They hoped for quiet in the world, even though superstition prevented them from saying the dreaded Q word.
Things happen, and people get arrested. DUI, Domestic Battery, Battery, Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness, and Loud Noise can happen to anyone. As humans, any one of us can lose control of our behavior if we are not careful enough.
What should you do if you are under arrest? How can you keep from making a situation worse? Over 23 years, people would be surprised how many problem children I saw coming in and out of jail. It would often be up to me to decide when they got out. Here’s the first thing I’d recommend.
